Are you clueless when it comes to home repairs and improvement? It’s not always necessary to have a handyman in the house and you don’t always need to shell out money for a professional. Even if you have no interest in making your own repairs, it might be necessary so it’s always good to have the basic tools handy.
Safety is first so make sure you have goggles and head protection if you’ll be working with wood and repairing things overhead. Also make sure you have working gloves; they’ll protect you from cuts and splinters. If you’ll be doing heavy lifting then wear a back brace to protect your lower back. Have on hand a well stocked first aid kit just in case there are accidents. It’s preferred that you also have someone on hand to in case of falls or if you’ll be using heavy machinery.
Make sure you have a hammer which can have more uses than just pounding in nails. Make sure the grip is comfortable and the head is standard size. You shouldn’t get one that is too small nor should you get a sledge hammer.
