If you’re suffering from severe indigestion then knowing the foods that combat your acid reflux is going to help your condition. You’re going to have a much healthier life when you can stop taking antacids and other indigestion medication every time you eat. Once you sort out your poor digestion your health is going to get a lot better, and you’ll also notice a big change in your life when this happens.
Eat smaller meals
Just as avoiding the foods that are causing your indigestion, it’s important to scale down the size of your meals. If you continue to over fill your stomach then food and acid will spit up into the esophagus, and your digestion gets off to a bad start.
If this keeps on happening then you’ll eventually damage the lining of the esophagus which can lead to complications later in life. So to stop so much food and acid coming out of the top of your stomach you need to eat smaller meals.
Foods to avoid
Your condition is going to calm down a lot faster if you make a note of the foods that trigger your acid reflux rather than the foods that will ease your symptoms. Everybody gets affected by different foods. And to eat foods to combat it rather than eliminate foods that cause it is not going to help to cure your problem. Prevention is much better than trying to deal with your problem once it has been caused, especially if it could have been avoided.
Your body will benefit from you eating foods that are going to stimulate your digestion. These foods will be your own personal digestive stimulators as they are different for everyone so you just need to do some of your own research. Your perfect diet is going to take a lot of trial and error.
If you’re continually eating foods that are high in fat and they are unhealthy then these should be the first foods that you cut out of your diet. When you start eating healthier foods such as more fruit and vegetables then your body is going to start functioning better all-round. This healthier diet will help you lose a few pounds if you need too, and it will start filling your body with necessary nutrients.
All poor quality foods such as processed foods need to be avoided. All the additives and everything else that is put into these foods are of no benefit to your body at all. Processed meats will kill friendly bacteria and they are essential for your digestion and your good health. The animals that are bread to create these foods are given antibiotics all their life and traces of it are found in all meats, especially cheap, farmed meats.
Live yogurt
Once you add a live yogurt to your diet every day your digestion will improve. Your digestive process needs the friendly bacteria found in these yogurts, to function properly. The friendly bacteria will also fight off yeast and fungus, and these organisms disrupt your digestion.
If you’re taking a lot of antacids or using a lot of acid reflux remedies then you will have yeast and fungus entering your digestive tract every day. And because your stomach acid is too low they then start an internal infection that will disrupt your digestion even more. And you’re suffering from low stomach acid because every time you eat you neutralize it with antacids.
To cure your indigestion you need to treat it from the root cause, and start watching what you eat. Instead of continuously eliminating your symptoms with indigestion remedies you should be correcting your digestion. Some people never get to the root cause of their condition, and they end up on acid reflux remedies for years just to alleviate unnecessary symptoms. Please don’t fall into this trap as well.
